A summer of dining, Plated: Knightsbridge’s new August festival
Plated is a new month-long dining festival launching this August, jointly delivered by the Knightsbridge Partnership and King’s Road Partnership. As the invitation puts it: the finest kitchens across King’s Road and Knightsbridge open their tables with menus, pairings and moments made for Plated. No membership, no fuss – just the best of summer in the city, one reservation at a time.
In Knightsbridge, expect a mix that leans into the area’s dining pedigree. At The Lanesborough Grill, Executive Chef Shay Cooper is presenting a three-course set menu paired with a complimentary glass of Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée, served under the dining room’s crystal chandeliers. At SETTE at Bvlgari Hotel London, Culinary Director Adriano has created a dish exclusive to the festival – Risotto al limone e ai frutti di mare, a lobster and seafood risotto finished with Amalfi lemon. Michelin-starred Kahani is showcasing chef Peter Joseph’s Afghani Lamb Do Pyaza at £22, served with a complimentary glass of Champagne on arrival.
Explore further, and you’ll discover Hawksmoor Knightsbridge is running a two or three-course set menu with a complimentary drink from just £25 – dry-aged British beef, sustainable seafood, Hawksmoor’s famous puddings. The Fifth Floor at Harvey Nichols is offering three courses and a Fever-Tree cocktail for £40, with priority terrace bookings for anyone quoting ‘Plated’. Harry’s Dolce Vita has created two Italian dishes exclusively for the festival: burrata with black truffle, and lobster ravioli with caviar. And at the Mayfair Chippy Knightsbridge, an intimate Lobster Shack, draped in nautical nets, is serving an ‘Afternoon Sea’ experience: three tiers of locally sourced seafood for £48 per person.
Two neighbourhoods, one appetite. The festival extends across the King’s Road too. The Ivy Chelsea Garden’s al fresco menu, The March Hare’s weekend £2 oyster happy hour, £45 cocktail masterclasses at the same address, a summer collaboration between The Cadogan Arms and The Lost Explorer, Ixchel’s £28 weekday Mexican lunch with an August-only raw Porthilly oyster upgrade, plus Sticks’n’Sushi, Rabbit and more.
