The start of summer hails the beginning of festival season. But forget Glastonbury and Reading: this June is all about the return of the Great Exhibition Road Festival. Celebrating trailblazing ideas in science and the arts, this annual summer weekender transforms the iconic Exhibition Road into a huge festival for a weekend of fantastic – and free – events for all ages.
Visitors can explore this famous area of west London – just a stone’s throw from Knightsbridge – and dive into a packed schedule of talks, workshops, performances and installations from the myriad iconic museums and cultural institutions in the area. These include Imperial College London, the Natural History Museum, V&A, the Science Museum and many more.

Japan National Costumes Inspired By Nature
An event for the whole family (ages 12+), this exclusive event from Japan House London held at Prince’s Gardens is your chance to design your own kimono inspired by nature and to try on a summer yukata.
Future Food Live
Head over to the festival’s first-ever demo kitchen at Imperial College London to sample exciting ingredients and dishes created by top culinary talent and to learn about the future of food.
Escape the Clinic! A Drug Trial Escape Room
Love an escape room? This adults-only experience at the V&A invites you to solve puzzles, crack codes and uncover hidden messages as you try to escape from a drug-trial themed room.
Yoga for Children
Held at the Goethe-Institut London, this drop-in workshop is a fun and interactive yoga session with the chance to learn some basic German phrases and vocabulary.
The Ocean Show
An immersive and educational event for the whole family, The Ocean Show, hosted by the Natural History Museum, invites youngsters to take on the role of scientist and explore the oceans on a deep-sea adventure.
