The 1920s-style bar is a decadent retreat and something of a hidden gem. Opt for a classic gin and tonic, choosing from a variety of British favourites such as Bombay Sapphire, Hendrick’s, Beefeater and Hayman’s Old Tom Gin. Whisky more your tipple? You’ll be spoiled for choice with a range of world whiskies and rare single malts from Scotland – including gems from the Lowlands, Speyside, Orkney and Islay.

Baccarat Bar, Harrods
Escape the everyday with a visit to Harrods’ glamorous Baccarat Bar, accessed via its own private entrance on Hans Crescent. There is certainly an air of mystery and intrigue here, with the bar’s moody black and red colour scheme, crystal chandeliers and mirrored surfaces. Naturally, you’ll find a huge range of fine champagnes, wine, spirits and even a dedicated Louis XIII experience. But we recommend turning your attention to the exceptional cocktail menu, newly launched this summer. These experimental tipples are inspired by the metamorphosis of earth, air fire and water (the key components of crystal). For a quintessentially British experience, channel your inner Ian Fleming with a Roasted Barley Martini; a unique twist on the classic cocktail. Distilled to a crystal clear format, the roasted barley is surprisingly clean and precise on the palate without any bitterness.
