The three wellness trends that need to be on your radar – and where to find them in Knightsbridge
Health & wellbeing trends 2026
Sauna and infrared treatments
Saunas are nothing new. In fact, they’re positively ancient. Our friends in Scandinavia have been enjoying the benefits of a hot sauna for thousands of years. But, here in the UK, they fell decidedly out of fashion for a while. But in 2026, they’re well and truly back in vogue. In fact, you may have noticed Finnish-style public saunas popping up on beaches and woodland areas all over the country. According to the British Sauna Society, the number of public saunas has exploded from just 45 in 2023 to 147 in 2025. While you may not find any public saunas in Knightsbridge (yet), there are plenty to discover via the area’s many five-star hotels. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London boasts a sauna and Amethyst Crystal steam room as part of its award-winning spa, while the two-storey spa at Bulgari Hotel also features a steam room, hydrotherapy pool and sauna. Guests at The Berkeley hotel have access to the newly renovated Surrenne Spa, which features “sense-stirring” saunas and aromatic steam rooms. And book yourself in for a bespoke treatment from the recently opened Dr Galyna clinic at The Lanesborough Club & Spa. An award-winning aesthetic doctor with over 20 years’ experience, Dr Galyna uses infrared LED therapy in wrinkle-zapping facials as well as Infrared Sauna Suits to promote detoxification, boost metabolism and enhance blood flow.
Perhaps the most unexpected trend of the past year is that of the at-home LED face masks. They may look like something you’d don for Halloween, but these high-tech gizmos are designed to boost collagen production and offer healing and anti-inflammatory properties galore. You can pick up the best on the market in Harrods (try FAQ’s 202 Wireless Silicone Mask) and Harvey Nichols (MZ Skin). They don’t come cheap, but the results and convenience are well worth the investment. Or, if you would rather leave it to the experts, pop into Harvey Nichols’ very own 111Cryo/Heat biohacking clinic and heat pod, which uses innovative temperature and light treatments for a variety of health benefits.
Longevity
“Longevity” is a word we’ve seen bandied around a lot in wellbeing parlance recently. But what exactly does it mean beyond the obvious? Longevity essentially refers to maximising quality of life as well as the quantity of years. Brain health is a major component of this, and 2026 will see a surge in cognitive fitness designed to care for our brain at every life stage. Holland & Barrett has introduced a range of products specifically designed to aid brain health, including a Brain Health Trail Mix loaded with cognition-boosting zinc and vitamin B5. Supplement fans should try the new Safr’Inside, a patented saffron extract, or how about bacopa monnieri, a valued herb in Ayurvedic medicine that’s said to help improve memory and cognitive function and even aid with ADHD symptoms.
Laser treatment and non-invasive facelifts
We live in an age where celebrities well into middle age are apparently reversing the clock. Just how does Anne Hathaway look the same age in the upcoming Devil Wears Prada sequel as she did in the original film two decades ago? The secret to holding back the years may not be as invasive as one might think. Lasers are being hailed as a pioneering alternative to surgery, and you don’t need to travel to Harley Street to find the cream of the crop. Brompton Road dental practice Serene is a proponent of Endolift, a non-invasive advanced laser treatment that stimulates collagen production via a specialised laser fibre. Serene founder Dr Safa describes Endolift as ‘a crucial gap in aesthetics… [it] uses laser technology that tones, contracts and refines, perfect for addressing jowls and skin laxity caused by age-related fat redistribution.’ The clinic offers it alongside gas and air to achieve amazing results in an environment that feels ‘serene, controlled and comfortable’. Another option is CO2 laser resurfacing at Levirgo Clinic on Beauchamp Place, where controlled beams of light are used to remove damaged outer skin while promoting the regeneration of healthy new skin cells for a fresh-faced and rejuvenated visage.
And leading wellness clinic The HVN is a proponent of the Fotona 4D Lift, a revolutionary laser treatment hailed as a non-surgical facelift that targets all layers of the skin to smooth wrinkles and improve firmness.
Dr Tanja Phillips, Medical Director at The HVN commented: ‘What I love about Fotona 4D is that it enhances the skin rather than changing it. By targeting the deeper structures as well as the surface, we can achieve a genuine lifting and tightening effect while still preserving natural movement and expression. It’s also about strengthening the skin over time, stimulating collagen at multiple depths to support long-term firmness, quality and resilience, which is exactly how we approach ageing at The HVN.’
