Visit Harvey Nichols' NEWGEN30 terrace to see out Fashion Month in style with an afternoon tea and cocktail pop-up
Harvey Nichols’ NEWGEN30 Terrace
In 1993, the British Fashion Council founded the NEWGEN initiative, which has for 30 years helped launch almost 300 designers including Alexander McQueen, JW Anderson and Christopher Kane. By providing financial support and tailored mentoring programmes to designers showing great talent and potential, it has helped such beneficiaries grow to the extent that they have, and in turn, had a great impact on shaping the fashion world, never letting the industry fall into creative stagnation.
The initiative’s 30th anniversary is being celebrated throughout Fashion Month, with Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge’s Fifth Floor Terrace currently rebranded as the NEWGEN30 Terrace until 1 October.
For a uniquely visual culinary experience, the terrace has been adorned with NEWGEN prints from Erdem and Roksanda, both of whom, alongside many other NEWGEN alumni, have recently contributed print designs to the BFC’s limited luxury tote bag collection, also aimed at celebrating the anniversary.
Visitors to the terrace can enjoy the NEWGEN30 Afternoon Tea at £40 per person, which includes delicious twists on classic dishes such as coronation chicken and coriander leaf finger sandwiches, chilled pea and mint soup served with parmesan crisp, and a raspberry and hibiscus éclair. 12-5pm daily. There’s also an exclusive new cocktail menu created in partnership with Seedlip, the British innovator of plant-based non-alcoholic spirits, making the NEWGEN30 Terrace the perfect spot to top off Fashion Month.
Afternoon tea is available 12-5pm daily until 1 October. Book here. Fifth Floor, Harvey Nichols, 109-125 Knightsbridge, SW1X 7RJ
