Dazzle in 2024: discover Knightsbridge’s best jewellers
Words: Kirsty Nutkins
The well-heeled neighbourhood of Knightsbridge is home to some of the world’s most high-end retailers, so it’s no surprise that there’s an incredible selection of jewellery shops here.
But it’s not just iconic luxury brands that you’ll find in SW1X; there are a number of independent retailers offering beautiful bespoke pieces, and a few wallet-friendly high street names to tempt you too.
Here, we round up the brands that should be firmly on your radar…
High-end
The world’s largest producer and distributor of diamonds needs no introduction. Run by the Oppenheimer family (no, not that one) from the 1920s to 2011, it has become the most important name in this lucrative business, and continues to pride itself on hand-selecting only ethically sourced diamonds.
Here are some fun facts too: it was De Beers that first coined the phrase “a diamond is forever” in 1947, and the company created the industry-wide diamond grading system, called the ‘4Cs’ (colour, carat, clarity and cut).
Its boutique on the ground floor of Knightsbridge’s most famous department store, Harrods, is a glittering treasure trove of goodies, such as the bestselling Enchanted Lotus collection.

Despite its name, Watches of Switzerland is a British brand, founded in London in 1924. But since its humble beginnings as a mail-order company, it has built a reputation as the world’s finest watch retailer.
The plush three-storey Brompton Road boutique stocks lofty names such as Patek Philippe and Cartier, and also boasts a 1,377sqft Rolex showroom and VIP room housing a rotating calendar of horological highlights throughout the year.

Tiffany & Co has achieved almost mythic status in the 187 years since it was established – its hallmark robin’s-egg blue needs no logo to identify it, while the Tiffany setting is widely considered the most famous engagement-ring style in the world. The classic Audrey Hepburn film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, did much to bolster its fame and notoriety too.
Harrods is not only home to some of its best collections, there’s also The Tiffany Blue Box Café, where modern-day Holly Golightlys can enjoy their flat whites from Tiffany-blue cups, surrounded by Tiffany jewels.

INDEPENDENT
A Brompton Road institution, Theodore’s Collection has more than 30 years of knowledge and experience in the jewellery industry, with a particular focus on watches.
This is the place to come if you’re after a pre-owned luxury timepiece from prestigious Swiss brands – including Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Cartier and Patek Philippe – and it will also repair, service, part exchange, value and sell your luxury watch.

When Samer Halimeh opened his £10m global flagship store in Knightsbridge in 2017, it was believed to be London’s most heavily fortified boutique – and with good reason, as the necklaces, rings and diamonds on display here are said to be worth hundreds of millions of pounds.
Lebanese-American Samer Halimeh, known as the “red carpet jeweller”, whose diamonds are worn by A-listers such as Naomi Campbell and Sir Elton John, founded the company in New York in 1995 and it has since made a name for itself as one of the world’s leading diamond brands.

HIGH STREET
DAISY LONDON AT HARVEY NICHOLS
Launched in 2009 on London’s Portobello Road and now stocked in Harvey Nichols (among other outlets), Daisy London prides itself on creating jewellery ‘with meaning’. It aims to create timeless, effortless and everyday pieces that are accessible to all (just like the humble daisy), with prices starting from £45.
The brand also has its own podcast, called Homegrown Daisy, where guests bring in their most significant pieces of jewellery and share the stories behind them.

A leading jewellery and lifestyle brand with a strong celebrity following, Jenny Bird has been creating lightweight statement pieces and trend-led designs for the past 14 years.
Jenny is a self-taught designer, who has been featured in the likes of Vogue and her pieces have been worn by everyone from Michelle Obama to Selena Gomez. They are now available in leading fashion retailers worldwide, and in Knightsbridge you can get your hands on them at Harvey Nichols.
Jenny Bird is a company with philanthropy at its heart, too, with 1 per cent of all sales donated from the brand’s fund, the Possibilities Project, to organisations that uplift women.
