Discover The Wine Cellar at The Lanesborough, an immersive and intimate new private dining experience in the hidden depths of the five-star hotel
Grape expectations: The Wine Cellar at The Lanesborough
Knightsbridge is home to myriad must-try bars and restaurants. And now The Lanesborough Hotel has struck liquid gold with its unexpected new fine dining experience.
The luxury hotel has announced the opening of The Wine Cellar, an intimate and atmospheric dining space available for private hire that oozes decadence and a sense of hidden mystery. Located in the depths of The Lanesborough’s historic wine cellar, with its Gothic flourishes and original brickwork, it promises to be a haven for wine enthusiasts and gourmands alike. Here, guests can enjoy a private dining menu devised by executive chef Shay Cooper alongside head sommelier Raffaele Leonardo Silvestre.
It is no surprise that vintage wine takes centre stage here. Hand-selected by Silverstre himself to effortlessly complement Cooper’s modern British signature dishes, guests can indulge in Pétrus, Sassicaia and Château Latour (to name just a few).
As one of London’s most celebrated chefs, Shay Cooper has ensured no palate will be left unsatisfied with an array of delicious dishes. Highlights include Coronation crab, Hereford beef tartare and the Herdwick lamb rack. And be certain to leave room for dessert, as the raspberry pistachio frangipane tart is said to be unmissable.
In addition to the private dining experience, The Wine Cellar will be hosting a series of ticketed tutored wine dinners, giving guests the opportunity to learn about their favourite tipple in an intimate environment. The inaugural event, taking place on 20 October 2023, will be in partnership with Dom Pérignon Champagne and will include a canapé reception and four-course dinner. William Sharpley, the Dom Pérignon ambassador, will offer five paired vintage glasses of Dom Pérignon Champagne to complement the meal alongside compelling insight into each vintage.
After a dinner fit for royalty, guests are invited to retreat to the Garden Room where they can enjoy the rarest of cognacs, some dating back to 1770, from The Lanesborough Paradis, the hotel’s liquid library. Pair your cognac with The Lanesborough’s impressive selection of cigars for a true VIP experience.
The Wine Cellar at The Lanesborough is now available for private hire (£1,500 per day) and for intimate dining experiences (£135pp). For more information and to book, visit here. The Dom Pérignon tutored wine dinner will be hosted on 20 October 2023 (£395pp).
