To celebrate 60 years of Bond on screen, the luxury department store is hosting an interactive pop-up in partnership with The Macallan whisky
007 Heaven at Harrods
It’s no secret that James Bond, the world’s most famous superspy, is a fan of a tipple. But when he’s not ordering his trademark shaken-not-stirred martini, he’s supping neat whisky. More specifically – at least in the Daniel Craig 007 universe – a wee dram of The Macallan single malt.
To celebrate 60 years of Bond on screen, the premium Scottish distillery has launched a collection of six special-edition bottles with illustrative packaging that represents a different decade of 007 across 25 films. The Macallan James Bond 60th Anniversary Release also forms an interactive experience at Harrods, including an eye-catching window display of storyboards and animations, as well as the limited-edition Globe-Trotter suitcase that was specially commissioned by The Macallan to house the new releases.
The display is visible to passers-by from the corner of Brompton Road and Hans Road, but for the full effect, you need to step inside. Here, you can get up close and personal with some of 007’s most beloved gadgets, with many housed in a space styled like Moneypenny’s office. These include Bond’s passport from GoldenEye, Jaws’metal teeth from The Spy Who Loved Me, Oddjob’s bowler hat from Goldfinger and – the pièce de résistance – the original Little Nellie autogyro from You Only Live Twice.
