Time for tea
From designing his own basketball court and matching ball, to plastering his signature vibrant colours and geometric shapes on the walls of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, there isn’t much artist Yinka Ilori hasn’t done in his short yet storied career. It’s exciting – and almost impossible – to predict just exactly what the British-Nigerian artist will do next. In a predictably unpredictable move, Ilori has recently unveiled an afternoon tea designed exclusively for the Bvlgari Hotel London. Commemorating the artist’s first institutional exhibition at The Design Museum – and the five-star hotel’s 10th anniversary – the afternoon tea is a dynamic twist on the British institution, with Ilori’s bespoke artwork expressed across sculptural afternoon tea stands and linen napkins. The aforementioned Yinka Ilori x Bvlgari Hotel London napkins will be available in a limited edition run of 200 – perfect for recreating the experience at home. Afternoon tea priced from £95 per person, advance booking only; napkins priced at £180 for four, available at The Bvlgari Lounge pastry counter; bulgarihotels.com
