The Lanesborough transforms into the Land of Snow

This Christmas, The Lanesborough will be transformed into an enchanting country house accommodating gorgeous seasonal displays.

The hotel’s annual festive programme will see its grand Belgravia ballroom transformed into The Land of Snow on a special weekend on 2-3 December, where a festive Afternoon Tea experience designed to enthral all ages will take place in collaboration with Moriarty Events and Wildabout Flowers.

It’s a case of “no filter necessary”, as white gypsophila will coat the ballroom floor, imitating freshly fallen snow, while an impressive twinkling woodland of pine Christmas trees will be planted among the white chairs and tables, for visitors to immerse themselves in the magical scene.

Inside the transformed Regency dining room – one of the most beautiful in London – the seasonal Afternoon Tea will also feature a string quartet, and delicacies expertly created by the gifted team led by head pastry chef, Salvatore Mungiovino.

Expect a festive twist on finger sandwiches, featuring roast turkey, chestnut stuffing and cranberry mayonnaise; beetroot cured salmon and yoghurt dill with lemon zest; organic cucumber and sage cream cheese; truffled egg mayonnaise with watercress alongside corn-fed chicken, prune and turkey pie.

Sweet treats will include The Lanesborough’s delectable jam and cream scones, and festive-themed cakes curated by Mungiovino to complement The Land of Snow. Examples of these range from the Christmas Tree – featuring pistachio, amarena cherry bavarois and chocolate sponge – to the Snowflake Cube, which brings together hazelnut frangipane, bergamot and pear mousse.

While seatings on Saturday 2 December are now fully booked, places are still available for Sunday 3 December. 

£105 per person for adults for Afternoon Tea, including a glass of champagne, and £65 per child. Seatings at 12.30pm and 3.30pm – these have limited availability, so be quick!
