The best pancakes in Knightsbridge for Shrove Tuesday 2025
It’s amazing how a cup of flour, milk and an egg can transform into something as inviting as a buttery pile of pancakes. While attempting 180-degree flips in a pan may seem exciting (before any pancake casualties on the floor), nothing is as good as leaving it to these syrup-drenched brunch spots.

The Aubrey, Mandarin Oriental
If you’re searching for cloud nine, the classic Japanese fluffy pancakes at The Aubrey are sky-high with a heavenly, featherlight texture. Topped with seasonal fruit and maple syrup, these soufflé-inspired pancakes are the perfect end to the restaurant’s Izakaya Brunch. This menu also includes a selection of small dishes, a sushi platter, one main and a sparkling cocktail on arrival.
Just moments away from Hyde Park, be welcomed in by its burnt-orange velvet booths, marble tabletops and Japonisme-inspired artwork before enjoying a stroll through parkland and along the Serpentine.

Sette, Bulgari Hotel
New York City’s Scarpetta restaurant family’s first international opening, Sette is the place to be in the approach to London Fashion Week. With low sculptural lighting and leather seats, it exudes NYC cool. Victoria and David Beckham have been spotted there enjoying a romantic dinner of spaghetti with tomato and basil, which feels like an A-list seal of approval.
While its lobster tagliolini is the star menu item, this Shrove Tuesday why not enjoy stacks of ricotta pancakes with chantilly cream and mixed berries that are beautifully reminiscent of balmy summer days? Alternatively, you can enjoy a taste of New York with Sette’s signature American pancakes complete with chantilly cream and maple syrup.

abc kitchens, The Emory
Adorned with Damien Hirst artworks and surrounded by views of Hyde Park, this high-end restaurant from Jean-Georges Vongerichten is the hot spot this Pancake Day.
With a classic offering, the abc kitchens menu features fresh buttermilk pancakes with banana and drizzles of maple syrup. Gluten-sensitive diners needn’t feel left out of all the deliciousness; the kitchen can whip up gluten-free almond pancakes with house-made almond butter and whipped banana cream. Totally a-peel-ing.

The Lanesborough Grill, The Lanesborough
The Lanesborough’s flagship restaurant is the most beautiful setting to enjoy plates full of pancakes. Who can resist fluffy American pancakes with crispy bacon for the true US experience, while sitting in one of London’s most stunning Regency-style hotels.

Al Basha
Taking an international approach to Pancake Day, head to Al Basha for a sweet taste of Asia. Paratha is a traditional Indian flatbread that is buttery with irresistible layers. Enjoyed with honey, sugar or chocolate – or keema, if you’re searching for a little spice first thing in the morning, Al Basha’s paratha options are divine and a great alternative to the customary crêpe.

The Harrods Café, Harrods
OK, so we know this isn’t a pancake, but Harrods’ signature “Braffle” deserves to be included in our joyful stack of breakfast inspiration. A hybrid between a brioche and a waffle, the Harrods Braffle can be enjoyed savoury or sweet. The menu includes ham and cheese with onion chutney, or a Braffle Benedict with ham or smoked salmon. For those with a sweet tooth, go all-in with salted caramel and milk-chocolate chunks or crème pâtissière with fresh berries. A must-try for those in the Knightsbridge area.
