New openings in Knightsbridge 2024
The Mayfair Chippy
Named London’s best fish and chip shop at the Good Food Awards 2023/24 and awarded a 1AA Rosette with Michelin Guide accreditation, The Mayfair Chippy has quite the fanbase. Known for its elevated nostalgic style (think chequerboard floors, leather booths and sea-inspired artwork) the original North Audley Street site offers an extensive seafood menu, including the classic chip-shop favourites such as fried cod as well as Carlingford oysters and Cornish crab. For the vegetarians, there’s fried West Sussex halloumi and, for vegans, “To-Fish” with Mayfair slaw.
The restaurant has announced its plans for a new Knightsbridge restaurant launching this November. Set across two floors, The Mayfair Chippy Knightsbridge will feature a new Gin Bar and an outdoor heated terrace for cosy winter tipples. Customers can expect quintessentially British dishes, a brand-new breakfast menu and all-day dining –a first for the brand.

Alo Yoga
Opening earlier this month, Alo Yoga brings fashion-forward athleisure to Knightsbridge. Founded in Los Angeles in 2007, Alo was inspired by the idea of taking mindful movement off the mat and creating garments that can be worn everywhere, from the studio to the street.
Located at 75 Brompton Road, the new store is 6,070sqft of space spread across two floors (womenswear on the ground floor and men’s on the lower level). Home to matching sets, yoga mats and equipment, as well as hair and body care, the Knightsbridge location can be found in between Russell & Bromley and Diesel.
Sarah Waller, lead asset manager at Schroders Capital, which managed the Knightsbridge Estate, said: ‘As an exciting international brand, we are thrilled to welcome Alo Yoga. A core part of our management strategy is to continually improve the visitor experience and strengthen the Knightsbridge retail community. Alo Yoga landing in Knightsbridge helps us achieve this.’

Cafer Erol
In Eminönü, Istanbul, aspiring sweet-maker Cafer Erol fulfilled a family dream when he opened his very first store in 1935. Now with 11 locations across Turkey and Azerbaijan, the Turkish confectioner is eagerly awaiting the opening of its very first Cafer Erol store in the UK.
Positioned next door to Harrods, the new London outpost is still under wraps but the brand’s signature pastry desserts, Turkish delight and dragees are sure to make a welcome appearance, much to the delight of those who adore the taste of pistachio, rose petal and nutty chocolate.
