The team behind CLAP London introduces an all-day café inspired by Japan
Now open: Japanese café CLAP KA-FE arrives in Knightsbridge

Since opening last February, CLAP London has fast become the spot for Japanese izakaya in Knightsbridge. Now the fine-dining restaurant is introducing its latest venture – an all-day café next door to its Basil Street restaurant. Celebrating Japanese café culture, CLAP KA-FE has positioned itself as an effortless “grab-and-go experience”. Perfect for those on the move.
The menu includes quirky pastries, including teriyaki pain aux raisins and seasonal fruit sashimi, as well as a selection of classic Japanese lunches: think chicken-and-egg sando, sushi bento set and miso super green salad.
Meanwhile, its signature dish takes a sweet approach with a shiitake salted caramel St. Honoré, a French choux-pastry gateau with an East Asian twist. For the adventurous foodie, there are many unique flavours to try.
As with all great cafés, CLAP KA-FE serves expertly crafted coffee and matcha, and is proudly partnered with award-winning brand Dirtea, known for its functional mushroom blends that optimise focus and energy. The London-based wellness brand and the design-led café share a mindful approach to everyday living, embracing effortlessly simplistic daily rituals and organic taste, serving super blends to Knightsbridge locals.
Director of business development Europe for AddMind – the group behind the enterprise – Max della Torre e Tasso says, ‘We are beyond excited to introduce CLAP KA-FE to London and the world. From the very beginning, our vision was to create more than just a café, we wanted to craft a serene space for guests to slow down and enjoy high-quality, Japanese-inspired food and drinks. Whether it’s a perfectly whisked matcha, a handcrafted sando or a nourishing sushi set, every detail has been thoughtfully curated to bring a sense of balance, indulgence and wellness to London.’
For its opening week, CLAP KA-FE will be running exclusive offers for customers, as well as special surprises to commemorate its launch – so keep your eyes peeled!
