Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park transforms into a Bavarian winter wonderland

Inspired by its sister hotel in Munich, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is transforming itself into a Bavarian fairytale.

The main attraction in the hotel’s festive programme is The Winterhaus. Opening Tuesday 19 November, The Winterhaus is a charming chalet found at the heart of the hotel with roaring fires and twinkling lights. With the atmosphere of a German “stube”, guests can dip into cheesy raclette or for those with an insatiable sweet tooth, gingerbread cookies, apple strudel and stollen will all be on offer. Keeping the spirit of Oktoberfest alive, cheers the festive season with Bavarian NOAM beer or spiced mulled wine.

Guests who book the Season’s Sparkle package will enjoy two complimentary drinks at the festive pop-up, alongside a welcome bottle of champagne, Winter Wonderland tickets for two and gifted festive treats in your suite.

Also taking inspiration from an authentic German Christmas is the Mandarin Bar, which is offering a Mandarin Oriental twist on the classic German jägertee. The seasonal cocktail is crafted with spiced black tea and rum – the perfect aperitif before heading to Dinner by Heston Blumenthal to try its Festive Tasting Menu. Expect plum meat fruit with spiced red wine, sherried scallop, king’s venison with sprouts and bacon, and finishing with a black forest gateau or the famous tipsy cake.

Giving back this Christmastime, all portions of sales from Mandarin Oriental’s bars and restaurants will be donated to StreetSmart, a charity dedicated to ending homelessness.
