The legacy department store is undergoing an exciting makeover
Harvey Nichols ushers in a new era

Harvey Nichols has announced the first stage of a major transformation at its seven-floor flagship Knightsbridge store, beginning with a reimagined ground floor set to open this autumn.
Described as a ‘significant evolution’, the redesign introduces a bold new direction that blends fine and designer jewellery with curated lifestyle products – the space will now be focused around a jewellery edit spanning internationally established houses and contemporary names.
Alongside this, visitors can expect an elevated selection of collectables in homeware and gifting; from artisan candles and sculptural vases to tabletop trinkets and specialised art books.
The changes are intended to meet the expectations of today’s savvy shopper, bringing together globally recognised designers with emerging talent in an environment that encourages creativity, unexpected collaborations and special brand moments.
Design-wise, the refurbishment will feature bold primary colours and adaptable fixtures for evolving brand collaborations. An exciting installation by artist and designer Gary Card is sure to be the first of many. Windows along the ground floor will be reopened to flood the space with natural light, while the prominent corner window at Knightsbridge and Sloane Street will be transformed into a pop-up space dedicated to exclusive launches.
Julia Goddard, CEO, described the launch as ‘an exciting chapter in the evolution of our brand’, while creative director Kate Phelan called it a statement of intent and ‘just the beginning of what’s to come.’
Harvey Nichols hasn’t carried out a transformation of this magnitude since its refurbishment back in 2015. This signals an exciting time ahead for Knightsbridge, setting the stage for a bold new chapter in luxury retail.
