The Turkish dessert shop has finally arrived in London, bringing its famous baklava, Turkish delight and kadayif to SW1X
Hafiz Mustafa 1864 officially opens its first London store in Knightsbridge
The arrival of Turkey’s famous dessert maker, Hafiz Mustafa 1864 to the capital has been hotly anticipated. Already the London store has had more than half a million views on TikTok from eager visitors waiting for its doors to open across from Harrods. Finally, this month, the wait is over.
Founded by Hadji İsmail Hakkı Bey before being passed onto his son, Hafiz Mustafa, the Turkish dessert shop is renowned for its delicious selection of Turkish sweets and delicacies. Think walnut, pistachio and chocolate variations of baklava, rose petal and orange hazelnut Turkish delight and almond dragees. Each dessert is made using first-grade ingredients with natural fruit essences and sugar cane for an authentic taste of Istanbul. Zamzam water is also used in all of its products.
In its 160-year history, the confectioner has won multiple awards, including Best Baked Goods & Pastry at the BBC Good Food Middle East Magazine Awards, and ranked number two on TasteAtlas’s Most Legendary Dessert Places list last year. With sites across Istanbul, Dubai and Antalya, its newest venture on Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, features a masjid (prayer room) and café for visitors to partake in prayer before enjoying a Turkish coffee or pomegranate tea.
