It may be the most divisive night of the year (top fun or totally overrated?) but if you ask us, New Year’s Eve is the perfect excuse to indulge, celebrate or set your intentions for the 12 months to come. Whether your idea of a great NYE is cocktails and counting down with your friends or a cosy night in with a good book, let us inspire you to make this New Year’s one to remember
How to ring in the New Year in Knightsbridge
Pack it in!
If you’re planning a getaway for the festivities, start by investing in a super-chic new case care of Tumi. Its ultra-light, hardshell cases come in a range of sizes, with the smallest being just 55cm, perfect for slotting into the overhead compartment on your next flight abroad. Our favourite? This mauve textured number.
International Expandable Carry-On 55cm, £630; Tumi, 55 Brompton Road, SW3 1DP
Make a night of it
But of course, who needs to fly when the world’s chicest, most luxurious hotels are in the neighbourhood, each promising to make New Year’s Eve a night to remember. At The Lanesborough, guests will be treated to a champagne welcome and a six-course dinner alongside entertainment at The Lanesborough Grill. Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is offering guests a bottle of champagne alongside any New Year’s stay, while The Emory Rooftop Bar is the place to go to enjoy some spectacular views of the London skyline (and perhaps spot some fireworks). The latest opening from the group behind Claridge’s and The Berkeley, The Emory is also London’s first all-suite hotel – perfect for soundless sleep, post-party.
Dress to impress
If New Year’s Eve for you is synonymous with black tie then hit Caroline Castigliano for an evening dress to remember. Specialising in couture, Castigliano might be best known for her bridal creations, but her cocktail dresses and custom-made corseted ball gowns have also been worn by London’s chicest women. Treat yourself to a bespoke beauty for the most memorable night of the year.

Glow up
With its holistic approach to beauty and wellbeing (its renowned aesthetic and body treatments are all about balancing mind, body and soul), The HVN is the perfect place to pamper ahead of any big event. The head-to-toe Signature Cocoon Suite Ritual offers a full hammam experience, including exfoliation, mud mask, steam and massage, and is perfect for anyone looking to unwind, or, our particular favourite, the Albiva Lift & Firm Facial, which uses a mixture of lymphatic massage and powerful botanical skincare to leave skin looking firmer, fresher and more glowy than ever. Heaven (or should we say HVN?)

Hair raising
Once suitably relaxed and refreshed, a NYE blowout will add the ideal finishing touch to your glow-up. Sanrizz are the whispered-about salons in charge of making London’s chicest women look put together. Their blow-drys start from just £37 and will leave you with the shiniest, most luxe locks in town.
Blow dry, from £37; Sanrizz, 134 Brompton Road, SW3 1HY
A menu with a bang
Begin the evening with plates of hand-pulled Beijing noodles, classic filet mignon and glazed prawns with walnuts at Mr Chow, Knightsbridge. The upscale Chinese restaurant is the brainchild of Michael Chow and legendary diners include the Rolling Stones and The Beatles. Come together at this high-end establishment before you twist and shout, and finally say, ‘here comes the sun’.
